Online Orientation

Use the resources below to learn about how to access your online WITC tools.

When looking to start online classes one of the first questions is “What do I need?” The first thing you need for an online class is computer access. What is exactly required will depend on your program but in general we have the following suggestions:
   • Minimum 2GHz processor
   • 4 GB memory/RAM (8 GB preferred)
   • High-speed internet connection
   • A web camera and microphone/headset may be required for some online courses

You can check out the WITC website for more information or talk with an ETC Specialist.

Check your email and check it often. WITC will use your student email account as the primary method of contact. Updates on your student account, class announcements, alerts, and everything else will be through your student email.

You access your student email through MyCampus. Check out our article on MyHelp “First Time Login” to log into your email. You can also read through our article on “How do I get WITC email on my smart phone?” for accessing your email on your cell phone.

MyCampus is your WITC portal for accessing student resources. From here you can gain access to Blackboard for working on your classes online, find your student email, access the WITC help desk MyHelp, and MyWITC for registering for classes.

You can find MyCampus on the top of any WITC webpage. The first time you access the portal you will need to complete the " First Time User Setup " instructions from MyHelp.

Blackboard is WITC’s learning management system, used for the distribution of materials for nearly every WITC course. Blackboard is where you will access course materials and resources, submit assignments to your instructor, and take quizzes and exams. Blackboard is available to students both on and off campus through a web browser.

You can access Blackboard by logging into MyCampus, or by clicking on Blackboard at the top of the WITC homepage, and entering your network credentials. Here are some tips to help you get started using Blackboard.

The MyWITC Portal is where you can Enroll in or Drop a class, access your Financial Aid information, set up Payment Plans, view your Academic Records, Account Summary, Admissions information, and where you can update your Personal Profile. Once you’ve set up your account with MyCampus, you can access MyWITC from the My Apps Portal, or from the top of any WITC webpage. Before you will be allowed access to your MyWITC, you must create your account, which includes filling in your account information and creating a password.

While you are a full-time student at WITC you have access to all of Microsoft Office for free. You simply install everything through your email. Click here for instructions on how to install Microsoft office onto your computer in just a few easy steps.

Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud-based storage included in your Office 365 subscription. Storing files in your OneDrive ensures you’ll have access to your most important documents whether you’re on campus, at home, or on the road. OneDrive allows you to access and edit files from anywhere that you have an internet connection.
