Student Blackboard Orientation: Tests

Blackboard Orientation

Exams

Chrome is the preferred browser for Blackboard.  FireFox usually works pretty good as well.

Do NOT use Internet Explorer, there are known issues with using Internet Explorer for tests.

The icon for tests/exams is a piece of paper with check-boxes.

To start an exam:

  • Click on the exam name
  •  You can read the test description
    • Pay close attention to a time limit and "Force Completion"
  • Once you're ready to start click on "Begin"
  • If your instructor added a password to your exam, you will be prompted to enter it now

You will see a variety of question types through your exam:

  • True/False
  • Multiple Choice
  • Short Answer
  • Matching
  • ...and many more

Make sure to "Save" your answers along the way and hit "Save and Submit" when you're all finished.  You may only be able to take the exam once, so make sure you're comfortable with all of your answers before submitting.

Your program may require your exams to be in Respondus Lockdown Browser, to do this just open that browser from the desktop instead of Chrome.  Respondus Lockdown Browser is already installed on all campus computers.
